Why do I keep having dreams where I am in the same place of authority?

I don't want to say what that position is, because of certain implications that it brings. However, while my dream doesn't explicitly give away what my position is, it is something that I just know. And it isn't the same dream, but like small parts of a much bigger dream. Last night, my dream was that the group I was with and I were attacked while in a van by like five teenagers with bats and crowbars and stuff. A few days ago, I had a dream where I was hunkered down in some basement getting bombed the crap out of, and then a couple of soldiers came in and started a firefight. For the past three weeks or so, this has been going on on and off. I guess what I am asking is what is the significance of such a big and lucid dream, and why am I always holding the same position of authority (the position is something I haven't held ever in my life)?
